Generate London hosts Sean Langan on 6th June

12 May 2016

In addition to our own events, Speakers for Schools helps sign-post free, inspiring and informative enrichment opportunities for state schools and their students, such as Generate London events.

As a charitable project, Generate London hosts interactive workshops and talks with industry leaders outside of school hours, each session providing a number of free tickets to state school students. These are special after-school workshops where they reserve spaces especially for students from schools within our network.

Generate’s last speaker of this school year is war correspondent and documentary filmmaker Sean Langan.

Langan has written and featured in several documentaries and contributed widely to magazines and newspapers such as The Guardian The Spectator , The Times and GQ.

In 2008, while filming Channel 4 Dispatches on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, he and his interpreter were kidnapped by the Taliban and held for three months before his family could negotiate a release.

He is currently being played by Martin Freeman in the feature film Whiskey Tango Foxtrot starring Tina Fey.
