Top tips for hosting a speaker with S4S

8 August 2014

Speaker talking to studentsIt’s already the start of a new school year, and at S4S we are busy pairing schools with Speakers across the UK. Here are just a few ways you can help us to get a Speaker into your school for a talk:

  1. Respond quickly
Our Speakers have busy schedules and for us to fit in their diary means we need to move quickly when dates become available. When you see an email offering the potential for a talk at your school, please do respond within 48 hours, so we can take advantage of every opportunity to bring a Speaker to you.
  2. Get SLT involved
These are large scale events so the Senior Leadership Team should be involved in hosting the speaker on the day, even if other staff is organising the event. Importantly, the support of SLT is also crucial when it comes to taking time off the timetable and getting permissions sorted as is required for these talks.
