“What’s the speed of a submarine?”: Vice Admiral Ian Corder at Roding Valley HS

Last Friday, UK representative to NATO and the EU Vice Admiral Ian Corder spoke to 50 Year 11 students at Roding Valley High School in Essex.

In his first Speakers for Schools talk, the Vice Admiral touched on his personal journey, having spent his first 15 professional years working underwater commanding submarines, and talked about his current role as the UK military representative to NATO and the EU.

He went on to talk to the cohort about the role of the national security institutions and touched on macro issues such as climate change, inequality, migration and vulnerability of interdependence affecting today’s world citizens.
