Finance Lecturer at HEC Paris & CEO of Pilates Excellence
Alexandra’s career has taken her from senior banker at Goldman Sachs to teaching Pilates to elite athletes and CEOs. Today she advises top executives, entrepreneurs and public figures on their posture and presence to improve their communication skills, self-confidence and leadership.
She graduated from HEC Paris, where she now teaches finance for their Masters in Finance, ranked #1 worldwide by the FT. In 2003, she joined Goldman Sachs Structured Credit Sales team in London, where she became an expert in financial engineering and banks regulatory capital management. In 2009 she joined the insurance structuring team, eventually co-heading a group advising CFOs and CIOs on strategic investments and new insurance products under the transforming regulatory capital regime.
In 2012 she resigned from Goldman Sachs. A year earlier she was accepted on a 2-year programme to study anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and Pilates. Her initial goal was to work with professional athletes and dancers, a world she knew intimately since she had been a junior figure skating pro herself and later graduated from Paris City Academy of Dance. A few months after graduating she launched “Pilates for Dancers” at the acclaimed Danceworks Studios in London. Her company Pilates Excellence has grown rapidly into a team of exceptional instructors and she has become one of the most prominent specialists in that field. She is the author of a research article on Tennis Performance and of an academic case study on a professional MMA fighter. Unsurprisingly her clientele has evolved from athletes to CEOs, top executives and public figures. They like her analytical and cerebral way of teaching.
Reflecting on the impact of her teaching on high achievers and on the immediate enthusiasm they show for body control, Alexandra decided to build a bridge between her two careers and areas of expertise: posture & business. The core of her consulting in Posture and Presence consists of one-to-one programmes. She is also a regular keynote speaker within talent management programmes of global financial institutions, law firms and professional networks. As a strong advocate of women empowerment Alexandra is often asked to share her unique experience at women events.
Alexandra was born in Paris, France. She now lives in London with her husband and daughter and travels for her teaching and speaking engagements.
