Biography

Amanda Sourry, today responsible for Unilever in the UK and Ireland, joined the company more than 25 years ago as a graduate trainee and has since built her career with Unilever around the world.

In 1985, Amanda graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Masters degree in Modern and Medieval Languages and straight away launched into a career with Unilever which has already spanned more than a quarter of a century and three continents.

Building her FMCG foundations in marketing, and in Foods categories, Amanda has held roles in Unilever’s key markets including USA and the UK as well as in a global category.

After 17 years with Unilever in the USA, Amanda was appointed Executive Vice President of Global Spreads and Dressings Category in 2009. She moved back to the UK in May 2010 to take up her current role as Executive Vice President Unilever UK & Ireland.

As well as her leadership role in Unilever, Amanda also represents the company on the Policy Issues Council (PIC) of IGD as well as sitting on the Executive Committee of the Food & Drink Federation and the Department of Health Responsibility Deal Steering Committee. In addition, as Unilever is one of the country’s largest advertisers, Amanda is Vice Chair of the Advertising Association Council,

Amanda is a great advocate of diversity in business and, championing this passion, is a member of the Unilever Global Diversity Board and chairs the Unilever UK & Ireland Women’s Business Network.

Amanda is married and has two teenage children. Her interests include travel, food, yoga and tennis.
