Entrepreneur, Female Founder & Board Advisor, Ambassador for Equality

Janvi obtained a BA in Law and Accountancy at the University of Manchester, went on to the College of Law for her LPC and then embarked on her training contract at leading London firm Charles Russell (now CRS). Janvi qualified into CR’s employment team and remained part of that team until she moved in-house to Nortel as a senior employment lawyer for EMEA. In 2007, seeing that there was a gap in the market for flexible legal advice provided by experienced in-house lawyers, she co-founded Halebury, one of the first alternative legal services providers at that time.

Janvi and her co-founder where amongst the first female founders in this space. Over a period of 12 years Halebury became a leading provider of flexible legal resourcing solutions to FTSE 250 companies. It has strategic partnerships with clients such at BT, Sky and Virgin Media and is highly ranked by the Legal 500 for its work in Technology, Media and Telecoms.

In 2019 Halebury was acquired by Elevate, a global law company providing consulting, technology and services to law departments and law firms. Until 2020, as well as retaining her role as Chairwoman of Halebury, Janvi sat on Elevate’s management team as global Vice President of ElevateFlex where she spearhead operational, structural and cultural change within the legal services industry.

Janvi is a regular speaker at industry and business forums, Speakers for Schools. She is a strong supporter and advocate for women’s rights at all levels, an advisory board member of Equality Now and the Children of War Foundation. She is also a founding board member of the new legal campaign #FreePeriods, which aims to ensure that sanitary products are provided in all schools. Janvi was recently awarded an honorary degree from the University of Law for her contribution as a lawyer, entrepreneur and her strong, and continuous support and advocacy for women’s rights at all levels.
