Jason Beattie

Jason has been the Political Editor of the Daily Mirror since 2010. Having started as a cub reporter in Solihull he joined the Birmingham Post in 1995.
Since 2000 he has had the privilege of covering Westminster politics for broadsheet, mid-market and tabloid newspapers including the Scotsman and the Evening Standard.
During that time he has interviewed Prime Ministers and party leaders; survived three general elections and reported from major international summits.
In 2012 he covered the US presidential elections for the Mirror.
Jason is a proud supporter of Charlton Athletic and other lost causes. He lives in Lewisham, south east London.
