Biography

After an initial career in merchant banking, Jeremy King has been in the restaurant business since 1975. During his time at Joe Allen’s he met Chris Corbin and they launched a business partnership which has lasted over 30 years.

They acquired Le Caprice in 1981. The Ivy was subsequently secured in 1990 and was hugely successful. They continued their theme of restoring faded restaurants by purchasing J. Sheekey in 1998. They sold their company (Caprice Holdings Limited) to Belgo Limited in 1998 but remained as non-executive Directors.

It had long been an ambition to open an all-day brasserie/café in the European style, which The Wolseley has fulfilled opening in 2003. The Delaunay in the Aldwych opened in December 2011 to great acclaim.

In June 2012 they launched Brasserie Zédel, a large, bustling Parisian brasserie with a cocktail bar ‘Bar Américain’, and a cabaret venue ‘The Crazy Coqs’, in Sherwood Street, W1.

This was followed by Colbert in Sloane Square which opened its doors in October 2012.

Corbin & King Hotels in partnership with Grosvenor Estates is developing The Beaumont in North Mayfair scheduled to open in June 2014.

Jeremy is on the board of Tate Enterprises Limited, Tate Modern Council and the Soho Theatre.
