John Nelson

John Nelson was appointed Chairman of Lloyd‘s – the world‘s leading market for specialist insurance and reinsurance, in 2011. He recently stood down as Chairman of real estate company Hammerson plc – a position he held since 2005. This follows a long career in banking – Kleinwort Benson, Lazard, and Chairman of Credit Suisse First Boston Europe until 2002. He is an advisor to Charterhouse Capital Partners LLP, a Trustee of the National Gallery and until 2011 served as Deputy Chairman of Kingfisher plc, Non-Executive Director of BT, Woolwich plc, JP Morgan Cazenove and Cazenove Group.
