Biography

Justin King was Chief Executive of Sainsbury’s from March 2004 to July 2014. Before joining Sainsbury’s, he was Director of Food at Marks & Spencer and prior to that held senior positions at ASDA/Wal-Mart and was Managing Director of Haagen-Dazs UK. His early career was at Mars Confectionery and Pepsi International.

Justin is a non-executive director of Staples Inc.

In January 2009 Justin was appointed to the Board of the London Organising Committee for the Olympics by Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, stepping down on the successful winding up of the company in 2013.

Between 2010 and 2012 Justin was a member of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group.

In the Birthday Honours 2011 Justin was awarded a CBE.
