Lord (Karan) Bilimoria

Co-Founder & Chairman, Cobra Beer

Karan Bilimoria is the founder of Cobra Beer, Chairman of the Cobra Beer Partnership Limited, a Joint Venture with Molson Coors, and Chairman of Molson Coors Cobra India. He is President of the UK India Business Council, a former Chancellor of Thames Valley University, and a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London. Karan is the Senior Independent Director on the board of the Booker Group PLC, chairs the Cambridge University India Partnership Advisory Board, and is a founding member of the Prime Minister of India’s Global Advisory Council.

In 2006 Karan Bilimoria was appointed the Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea, making him the first ever Zoroastrian Parsi to sit in the House of Lords. He sits as an Independent Crossbench peer. Lord Bilimoria was appointed a CBE in 2004, and was presented with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award by the President of India in 2008. He is an honorary fellow of Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge.

Lord Bilimoria qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst and Young in London, and graduated with a degree in law from the University of Cambridge. He is an alumnus of the Cranfield School of Management, London Business School, and Harvard Business School.
