Nicola Tillin

EMEA Commercial Director, WARC

Nicola has been working in media and publishing for over 20 years, managing teams of all shapes and sizes.

A considerable amount of her experience has involved the recruitment young people – screening, interviewing, selecting, onboarding and mentoring recent graduates as they start their careers in what is often their first ‘proper’ job.
As a manager of young sales people, Nicola has a great understanding of what employers expect from their newer, less experienced members of staff and frequently finds herself laughing and despairing in equal measure at how often this is at complete odds with what those new recruits think is expected of them.

This ‘expectation gap’ puts the new, young employees at a disadvantage – an imbalance Nicola is always keen to address by sharing her experiences.

When not at work, Nicola can be found running, cycling, horse-riding, yoga-ing, tennis-ing, climbing mountains, trekking up hills, dreaming up new adventures – anything that gets her out and about and offers a bit of a challenge. With a decent amount of eating, drinking and socialising thrown in.
