Samira Sohail

Samira Sohail works as a Strategy Manager at the BBC. She works on the growth and the business development of the BBC’s digital portfolio of services, such as BBC iPlayer and the launch of new ones, including BBC Three- a youth service for 16 – 35 year olds, set to evolve from a broadcast TV channel into a digital-only entertainment service and BBC Playlister- the BBC’s first music digital service.

Prior to the BBC, Samira worked in Corporate Finance for J.P. Morgan, an investment bank, advising FTSE 100 companies in the technology, media and telecoms industries. She studied Maths at Trinity College, University of Cambridge.

She is a sports enthusiast and takes a keen interest in the startup sector, mentoring at a number of accelerators and prototyping in her spare time.
