Stephen Hester

Stephen Hester is a leading international business leader, and particularly well known in the UK over the last 20 years.
Stephen is currently Chairman of easyJet, the leading European airline, Chairman designate of Nordea Bank, the largest Bank in the Nordics, and Lead Director of Kyndryl, the largest IT infrastructure company globally and New York based.
His past business experience has included 17 years as a Chief Executive across 3 different FTSE 100 companies including the rescue of Royal Bank of Scotland (2008-13), Royal Sun Insurance (2014-21) and British Land (2004-8).
Stephen was born in the US, grew up in North Yorkshire attending the local comprehensive school, and studied Politics,Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University (graduating with a 1st class degree).
His early career was at Investment Bank Credit Suisse First Boston (19 years, various roles) and then Abbey National (CFO and COO). He has also been Deputy Chairman of Northern Rock (2008) and Senior Independent Director of Centrica (2016-22)
