Tim left school with O levels / CSEs a long time ago and got an apprenticeship at Fry’s chocolate factory (part of Cadbury’s). He started in the cost office and had jobs in distribution and production control before joining the sales team ‘on the road’. He won a secondment into marketing at Bournville and had five great, interesting years before heading South to London, where won a place as an account director in advertising, got married and started a family. He went on to become CEO of two different top ad agencies before leaving to set up his own consultancy specialising in change management. After fifteen more years and reaching 60 he gave up the business to join the AA. He also does other work including as a trustee of a local riverside studios / arts centre which in the next 4 years will be rebuilt to house a national digital arts centre.
