This Easter over 35 students attended work placements as part of Speakers For School’s work experience programme, S4SNextGen. From music production to law, this term’s hosts included:

CCA Entertainment

About – Vocal coaching, music production

Students – Charlenessa & Jonas

During their week at CeCe Sammy‘s, CCA Entertainment, Jonas & Charlenessa had a jam-packed work placement learning the ins and outs of what goes into making a top single – from sound engineering to choreography.

Endemol Shine

About – Television production company

Students – Saiba & Husna

 

Saiba and Husna had a well-rounded placement covering a broad range of areas from the reception to the studio. Find out more about what they got up to:

Enders Analysis

About – Independent Research & Advisory Firm

Student – Andre

Student Andre spent the week learning how research and advisory firm, Enders Analysis operates.

 

‘I gained some key skills such as professional etiquette which I will undoubtedly need in the future.

Leading organisations don’t always offer work experience and if they do it tends to be exclusive.

(Enders Analysis) was really open and trusting. They let me work independently and go to meetings to get a feel of how it works.’ – Andre

 

Gibson Dunn

About – Law firm

Students – Over 20 students from 17 schools

Gibson Dunn held an insight day for S4SNextGen students giving them a taste of what it’s like to work in a law firm. Students were treated to a wealth of skill-building sessions including a body language & first impressions exercise, employability skills, case studies from staff and a tour of their London office.

The highlight of the day included an interactive session where students learnt about the life cycle of a case.

4 students headed to Ofcom for their work experience.  Zainab (below) spent her placement at Ofcom’s HR department.
