International Trading Director, Carwow
Since graduating in 2005, Alex has worked in a variety of different businesses, both large and small. He started his career with BMW UK, working in their advertising team for 5 years, before joining Google in the heart of Covent Garden. There, he worked as an industry analyst and then as a manager, helping all sorts of businesses get the best from Google and Youtube.
In 2014 Alex took the decision to get back to grass roots, and joined WhoCanFixMyCar.com, a mechanic-comparison website run by just 4 people, operated from a kitchen table! Having grown the business 10-fold, he was then approached by carwow.co.uk, to head up the newly-formed Trading team.
Alex has also worked as a teaching assistant for two years – as a sports teacher at primary school, and as an English Language year at a secondary school in Spain, as part of his studies.
Alex’s participation has been made possible through Speakers for Schools partnership with the UK Automotive 30% Club and his school talks will include a focus on inspiring girls to consider opportunities in the automotive sector and encouraging all students to aim high.
He is also supporting the UK Automotive 30% Club 30/30/30 campaign.
