Allan Watt

Director, Prince's Trust Scotland

Allan joined The Prince’s Trust as Director, Scotland in 2013. Prince’s Trust Scotland will help 10,000 young people this year to get a job, start a business or get back into education. Allan spends a large part of each year working directly with young people to make sure their voices are heard and that every part of Scottish society has the opportunity to help our young people.

He has had a long involvement with The Trust – beginning with developing the long term partnership with RBS from 2001 onwards and then in 2003-4 taking on the role of interim Chief Executive. From 2004 to 2010 he served on The Prince’s Trust Scotland Council

Before The Trust, Allan had wide experience of the public, private and voluntary sectors in the UK and overseas. He has been responsible for communication, sponsorship, marketing and CSR activities at RBS in Edinburgh-based global roles and in Asia Pacific, as a member of the RBS regional executive management team on a three-year posting in Hong Kong. Previously he worked as Development Director for the Wise Group, a leading employment and regeneration charity. He has also worked for the Scottish Development Agency and Monitor, a firm of international strategy consultants, which he joined after studying at Oxford University.

Life doesn’t always go in a straight line and Allan has enjoyed the variety of roles and the unexpected changes in his career and enjoys speaking to young people about their hopes and fears for their futures. He lives near Glasgow with his wife and four young sons and chairs the School Parent Council.
