Biography

Kate has a portfolio of non executive directorships and advisory roles. She is a Non Executive Director of Real World Technologies Ltd and Senior Adviser at international business communications consultancy, Instinctif Partners. She is also an advisor to the multi-channel retailer, Boden. She was Chair of the Remuneration Committee and Non Executive Director of FTSE250 Imagination Technologies plc until its sale to Canyon Bridge in November 2017. She was also Non Executive Director of education business, First News Ltd.

Kate was appointed a Life Peer in 2015 and focuses her interests on education, technology, skills and business. She sat on the House of Lords Select Committee for Artificial Intelligence that published a report in April 2018: “AI in the UK: ready, willing and able?”

In 2017 Kate was Visiting Parliamentary Fellow at St Antony’s College, Oxford University. She is on the Advisory Board of independent think tank, Onward. Kate was formerly Vice Chairman of The Conservative Party, responsible for Business Engagement. She worked on both the 2010 and 2015 General Election campaigns as well as the EU, Scottish and AV Referendum.

She is also a Governor of ARK Burlington Danes Academy.
