Dame Alison Carnwath

Biography

Having been appointed Chairman of the Land Securities Board in November 2008, Alison is the only woman to be Chairman of a FTSE 100 company. She is considered to be one of the busiest directors
in the FTSE 100 with other significant roles in corporations in both UK, Europe and the US, and has been named in the Times Power 100 as one of the “top 100” most influential directors in the UK. Her other Non‐Executive positions include Zurich Insurance Group, PACCAR Inc, Chairman of the Management Board of Isis Equity Partners and Chairman of the Audit Committee of BASF. Alison is also a member of the Advisory Council of the St George’s Society of New York, a trustee of the British Library and has an honorary doctorate.
