Biography

Diane is an economist specialising in new technologies, especially the impact of mobile phones in developing countries. She is the author of many books, the latest being ‘GDP: A Brief but Affectionate History’. For eight years she was a member of the Competition Commission. She is also Professor of Economics at the University of Manchester.
