Jenny Anderson

Finance & Education Reporter, Quartz

Biography

I have worked at the New York Times for over a decade, covering finance and education. As a finance reporter I covered two crashes – the technology stock crash of 2000 and the more recent financial crisis of 2007-2008. In 2008, I won a Gerald Loeb award for breaking news about my coverage of Merril Lynch
(“The Fall of E. Stanley O’Neal at Merrill Lynch,” by Jenny Anderson and Landon Thomas Jr., The New York Times).
Prior to the Times, I worked for Institutional Investor magazine covering everything from the defined contribution market to Latin America and Wall Street. Before that I worked for the NewYork Post.
From 1994-1997 I lived in Mexico and Argentina, testing out different kinds of writing and journalism, learning Spanish and developing a love for good tequila.
In 2010 I wrote a book about marriage and behavioral economics called It’s Not You It’s the Dishes. My secret dream: to be a children’s book author.
