Former Executive Director of Communications, Bank of England
I began my career as an economist at the Bank of England before switching to journalism, joining first Reuters news agency and then the BBC as Economics Correspondent, reporting mainly for the One, Six and Ten o’clock news. I then presented the Daily Politics on BBC2 before rejoining the Bank as Executive Director for Communications. My three years in that role coincided with the height of the financial crisis, bringing myriad challenges. After taking two years out to look after my young family I recently returned to the Bank as adviser to the Governor on strategic communications.
