Laura Sanderson

Partner, Zygos Partnership Ltd

Biography

Laura is a Partner of The Zygos Partnership. The Zygos Partnership is a firm that advises company Boards on their most senior appointments: Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Independent Non-executive Directors. Laura’s focus is on Chariman and Non-executive Director searches, and she also conducts CEO searches within her areas of particular expertise. In this role she has been responsible for the appointments of a number of prominent business leaders to their current roles.
The key to success in Laura’s role is being able to understand companies, their strategic position, and the leaders they need for the next phase of their journey, and also being able to understand people, their careers and what makes them tick. The art of making a successful Board appointment is then in bringing the two together. She’d be delighted to come and speak about successful business leaders, their journey, career planning, and other aspects of her work that students may find interesting.
Laura started her executive search career in 2001 and has vast experience of Board Advisory work, having previously worked with a boutique executive search and consultancy firm, providing Chairmen with strategic advice on a range of issues including corporate governance.
Laura has an MA in English and an MPhil. in Medieval and Renaissance Literature from Cambridge University, where she was awarded three scholarships.
Outside work she is married to a Headmaster of a secondary school, and is proud mother to three daughters.
