Biography

Joined Army whilst at School (1979). Educated Durham University (Anthropology Hons) and MA (Military Affairs – King’s London). Commissioned Royal Artillery 1986 Posted to Germany after Sandhurst, 4 tours of Northern Ireland, tours of Bosnia, Kosovo. Commanded Regiment in Iraq 2003, Cyprus 2004, and deployed as Brigadier to Afghanistan 2006. 3 appointments in personnel roles, responsible for all Army personnel policy. Interests include cycling, sailing, singing.
