Biography

As chief executive of Severn Trent Liv is responsible for providing clean water and taking away waste water to around 8m people across the midlands and wales. Severn Trent is one of the three large water utilities in the UK, and is listed on the UK stock exchange.

Prior to this, Liv worked at British Telecom for 12 years. Her last role was as Chief Executive of Openreach, the engineering division of BT. In her Openreach role, Liv was responsible for the delivery of one of the fastest and most ambitious deployments of fibre broadband in the world. Liv owned fibre through from strategic concept to rollout across two-thirds of UK premises, delivering 18 months ahead of schedule.

Liv spent nine years in a variety of Sales, Service and Strategy roles within BT before joining Openreach. This included four years as BT’s Group Director of Strategy & Regulatory Affairs

Before joining BT, Liv worked for Accenture, the management consultancy, where she spent five years in the retail and high-tech practices. The projects gave her multi-sector and international exposure with projects in Chicago and Paris.

Liv, 42, is originally from Harrogate in Yorkshire, and is married, with two boys. She is also a lifelong Everton fan.

Liv is a British Business Ambassador for The Department for International Trade.
