Biography

Major General Peter Williams is a retired Army officer with over three decades of experience in military intelligence, peacekeeping and international military diplomacy, as well as several years spent as a speechwriter to a very senior American general. Currently he edits a military journal (The Guards Magazine) and gives talks, mostly on military history (often based on his own experiences as a Cold War spy in East Germany, as a peacekeeper in the Balkans and as the Head of the NATO Military Liaison Mission in Russia), to schools, on cruise ships and to charity audiences.
