Biography

Mark Stevenson is an entrepreneur, author, broadcaster and expert on global trends and innovation. Chris Anderson (curator of TED.com) remarks, “Stevenson wears no blindfold. His tools are curiosity, open-mindedness, clarity and reason.” His first book An Optimist’s Tour of the Future was described by Wired “a very coherent and entertaining journey through the world of future technology” and, by New Scientist, as “a refreshing reminder that the future will always belong to the optimists”. His second book (The Shift) about systems innovation will be published in 2014. His many advisory roles include counselling Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Earth Challenge (www.virginearth.com), the crowd-investing company Trillion Fund (www.trillionfund.com) and Every1Mobile, which builds large-scale social networks on mobile devices in developing economies (www.every1mobile.com).
As such Mark is constantly in demand as a consultant and commentator on social and technology trends and how to adapt to them.
