CEO, De La Rue
Martin was appointed as CEO of De La Rue plc in October 2014. Since joining he has led a review of the strategic direction of the Group, addressing operational risks within the business whilst refocusing on new markets and new areas of growth. He has also reshaped the group with the sale of two divisions and the acquisition of new capabilities. Martin has over 25 years experience working in the technology and business services sector where he has developed a considerable understanding and experience of working with government customers around the world and bringing new software and hardware products to market.
Martin joined De La Rue from BAE Systems Applied Intelligence where he was Managing Director since its acquisition by BAE Systems in 2008. At BAE Systems Applied Intelligence (formerly Detica) Martin was responsible for the strategic expansion of the business internationally through both organic growth and acquisitions. Prior to joining Detica in 1996, Martin worked for Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and British Telecom.
Martin is also sits on the Board of the International Currency Association (ICA) and was appointed a Non Executive Director of Forterra plc in May 2017.
Martin holds a MA (Hons) in Physics from University of Oxford and MSc in Remote Sensing from UCL/Imperial
