Michael LeGoff was born in Canada and after University joined the Royal Canadian Navy.
Michael holds a B.Sc. in Physics and an MBA. He is a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and is a registered professional engineer.
Prior to Plessey, in 1995 he founded a power semiconductor company, Dynex Semiconductors, which he listed in 1998 (CDNX:DNX) and sold his position in 2005.
He founded Plessey Semiconductors with a Management Team Buy Out, with the acquisition of Swindon and Plymouth assets in May 2009 and has led the business as CEO since that time. His vital relationship with its investors is key to funding Plessey’s current and future Business Plans.
Plessey started with the development of sensor components and end-user applications and is gaining market share in the rapidly growing health and well-being markets including mobile health solutions. Plessey has also taken the first step towards their integration of sensors and lighting for the future markets of smart lighting and “healthy-lighting” with the release of the first commercially available LEDs manufactured on large diameter silicon substrates.
Michael travels extensively in his role as CEO of Plessey, taking in the Far East, India and both the United States and South America.
Living in the South West of England, Michael is a keen supporter of Exeter Chiefs Rugby Union team. He also enjoys cross country skiing.
