After completing my University degree in the USA, I joined Primesight in 1991 as a Financial Analyst. The company was failing and I worked with the CEO to successfully turn the business around. We got rid of the loss making businesses and then began developing new advertising sites around “local shopping” areas. I was appointed Managing Director in 1995 (Age 29) and floated the business on the London Stock Exchange for £13.5M in 1997. We continued to build out the business and in 1999 sold Primesight to SMG plc (now STV plc) for £35M.
During my time at SMG, I more than doubled the size of the business through organic development. In 2007, I partnered with the Private Equity firm GMT Communications to buy Primesight from SMG for £57M. In late 2009, we completed the acquisition of Titan’s (previously Maiden Outdoor) billboard portfolio, moving Primesight to a clear number 2 in the billboard sector of the UK outdoor market.
In recent years we have developed a highly successful network of digital screens in Cinema foyers across the country and are currently developing a national network of Large Digital Billboards
I was Chairman of the Outdoor Media Centre (OMC) (2013-2014), a Director of Route, the outdoor industry research body and am a Trustee of NABS (The National Advertising Benevolent Society). Primesight Limited has received a 2 star accreditation on the Best Companies Survey in 2013 and 2014.
