Director of Business Improvement & Innovation, Arts Council England & Former Head of Publishing, Rights & Images, National Portrait Gallery
Having completed a degree in languages and linguistics I began my working life as a bookseller. I then moved briefly into academic publishing before beginning a 17 year career at Penguin Children’s Books, in rights and licensing, working on such characters as Peter Rabbit and brands such as Ladybird. In 2012 I moved into the museums and galleries world becoming the Head of Publishing, Rights & Images at the National Portrait Gallery. I am passionate about working in the arts and enjoy working in the commercial side of a not-for-profit cultural institution. I am also a trustee for an association which supports commercial excellence in the heritage sector.
