From the world’s most powerful investment bank to the world’s most respected restaurant Patrick Drake’s journey has been anything but conventional.
Patrick started his professional life at the world’s largest law firm, Clifford Chance, before moving to Goldman Sachs. But London’s corporate conveyor belt quickly lost its allure and so began a secret double life. Lunchtimes hiding out with the chefs in his firm’s fine dining restaurant, evenings in the kitchen of The Cuckoo Club in Mayfair and weekends with renowned Spanish chef Jose Pizarro.
After a stint at The Fat Duck in Bray he couldn’t pretend to love his day job any longer and jettisoned the rat race to pursue his love of food full time.
Nowadays he is the co-founder and head chef of nationwide cook-from-scratch delivery service Hello Fresh (www.hellofresh.co.uk), which delivers recipes and a chilled box of the exact fresh ingredients needed to cook those recipes at home. The company started in his living room in 2012 and now delivers millions of meals across the UK.
Patrick is also a presenter of “When Patrick Met Kylie: A Love, of Food, Story” (airing in 70 countries), food writer for Women’s Health and the Huffington Post and teaches thousands of people a day to cook using his Youtube channel “The 60 Second Chef”.

Patrick talks extensively for The Prince’s Trust and numerous entrepreneurial organisations. He believes strongly in demystifying the perception of success as being based on luck or special ability, but rather focuses on a pragmatic approach to reaching one’s (business and personal) goals.
