Founder and CEO of Ella's Kitchen
Paul was born in Sheffield and grew up in Zambia. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant and then spent 9 years at Nickelodeon UK where he rose from Financial Controller to Deputy CEO.
In 2006 he created Ella’s Kitchen, an innovative, new brand of organic baby and children’s food. Ella’s Kitchen grew extremely quickly, catching the zeitgeist of our times. The brand launched in Scandinavia and the US in 2009 and has subsequently launched in 13 other territories. In 2013 families spent over $150million on Ella’s Kitchen foods; and every half a second of every day someone, somewhere around the world eats an Ella’s Kitchen product.
In 8 years the company has gone from being a small business to a division of a NASDAQ listed company and has won numerous awards including food brand of the year in both the UK and Sweden.
Paul is proud Ella’s Kitchen is a purpose led business dedicated to reducing childhood hunger and obesity. In 2011 he was honoured as the UK Entrepreneur of the Year and in 2013 was the Board Director of the Year for Small and Medium Enterprises.
He sits on the Santander SME advisory board, is an ambassador for the Family and Childcare Trust, a counsellor to One Young World and a commissioner to a Parliamentary report on Sustainability in the Food Chain. In 2013 he published an influential report of improving children’s health in the UK – ‘Averting a Recipe for Disaster’. He has an honorary doctorate from the University of Reading for his contribution to improving children’s health and his work as an entrepreneur.
