Principal at the Royal Academy of Music
Jonathan Freeman-Attwood was educated at the University of Toronto and Christ Church Oxford. He became Principal of the Royal Academy of Music in July 2008 having served as Vice-Principal. He is producer of over nearly 200 commercial recordings, many of which have won Gramophone Awards and other international prizes.
As trumpet soloist, his enterprising series of CDs for Linn Records has received critical acclaim. He also broadcasts regularly for BBC Radio 3 and writes as an established authority on Bach interpretation for Gramophone and many other publications. In 2001 he was appointed a University of London Professor and in 2009 a Fellow of King’s College London. He is a Trustee of the University of London and several other educational trusts as well as Garsington Opera.
