Foreign Editor, The Economist
I’m the Foreign Editor of The Economist, a British news magazine that is surprisingly popular in the rest of the world. I run our foreign coverage.
I’ve been a journalist all my working life. I’ve reported from more than 90 countries and lived in six, covering war, famine, trade, innovation and Donald Trump’s effect on global affairs. I’ve written two books: one about Africa, the other about how immigrants make the world brainier.
