Biography

Sophie Raworth presents the BBC’s 1 o’clock news, and regularly appears on the 6 and 10 o’clock news bulletins. Sophie has fronted numerous BBC documentaries including Panorama’s ‘The truth about supermarket price wars’, ‘Too much too young’ and ‘The trouble with working women’. She has been part of the presenting team for many the BBC’s big events programmes over the past decade including the Royal Wedding and the London 2012 Olympics. Sophie joined the BBC as a trainee in 1992 and worked as a producer and reporter in Manchester and Brussels, before joining BBC Breakfast as a presenter in 1997. She studied French and German at Manchester University. Sophie was born in May 1968 and lives in London
