Managing Director, NHS Leadership Academy
Stephen spent the first twenty years of his working life serving in the Royal Marines. During the time he was privileged to lead small and large teams on operations, and training, around the world. Beyond operational service Stephen also worked extensively in leadership development both within the Royal Marines, and on the staff of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom.
Following military service Stephen joined the NHS where he works as the National Director for Leadership Development and Managing Director of the NHS Leadership Academy. In this role Stephen is responsible for the NHS Graduate Management Training scheme and a suite of development interventions from in-place support, through coaching and mentoring to residential leadership development programmes for all levels of leaders in the NHS. Including aspiring, and new in post, hospital Chief Executives.
